Punjab United 3 Corby Phoenix 2 Michael Chong

HT 2-0
After recent setbacks Punjab picked up 3 points against a good Corby Phoenix outfit with a 3-2 win in a pulsating encounter.
Phoenix had the best chance early on when they struck the upright in the early exchanges.
Punjab produced some stylish and organised football with the defence marshaled brilliantly by Spencer and Walker with the outstanding midfield trio of Logue, Saini and Park set about to make life difficult for the visitors with willing runners Chong and Park always a major threat.
Punjab made the breakthrough when Michael Chong finished well by drilling the ball home for 1-0 after 30 minutes.
Numerous opportunities were missed but Punjab deservedly doubled there lead when Gareth Walker volleyed home for 2-0 after a great cross.
Phoenix came back into the game in the second half and pulled a goal back when Kyle punished some sloppy Punjab play for 2-1.
Former Punjab striker Jamie Oneill then levelled when he headed home a corner for 2-2.
Literally straight after De La Huliniere saved well and Danny Spencer hooked off the line to keep the scores level.
However with 11 minutes remaining Aston Pink sprung the offside trap and crossed to Gary Park who coolly rolled the ball into the net with his left foot to make it 3-2 Punjab and ensured three valuable points.
