kHALSA RESERVES BEATEN AT THE DEATH

Khalsa Reserves 3 Bugbrooke Reserves 4
Stephen McCabe
Liam Bradley
Paul Britton

HT 1-1

Another game played in strong wind and rain again ended with an unfortunate defeat for Khalsa.
Khalsa started strongly with Dean King and Paul Britton dominating the midfield but went behind to a well taken goal from Bugbrooke's centre forward.
Stephen McCabe then had a header cleared off of the line before latching on the end of a quality Dean King delivery at the back post for the equaliser.
Half time then came at a bad time as Khalsa were piling on the pressure only to concede in the first minute of the second half from a fortunate 25 yard strike.
Another quickfire goal from the home side then extended their advantage to 3-1.A spirited spell from Khalsa brought them back to 3-3 with goals from Liam Bradley and Paul Britton.
We had all of the momentum and were pushing for a winner when Bugbrooke scored the winner on the break with 2 minutes to go.

96TH MINUTE GOAL DENIES KHALSA A DESERVED POINT

Khalsa 1 Heyford Athletic 2
Andy Wilson

HT 1-0

A game dominated by blustery windy and rainy conditions did little to help both sides before Khalsa fell to defeat at the death of the game.
Khalsa took a deserved 13th minute lead when Davy Lindsay free kick was cushioned off by Danny Spencer to Andy Wilson whose great finish from the edge of the box made it 1-0.
The second half saw Khalsa squander two good opportunities before Heyford were awarded a penalty on 75 minutes.
The game looked like ending in a draw but somehow the referees 6 minutes of injury time denied Khalsa when Heyford nicked a winner.
All in all a good performance but ultimately the late goal denies Khalsa.

Team:- Everitt, Carr(c), Saini, Lindsay, Spencer, Walker, Morgan, Wilson(A), Caine, Cox, Miller (subs Carvalho for Caine 75mins)

WALKER'S STUNNING STRIKE NETS KHALSA FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON

Khalsa 2 Kislingbury 0
Andrew Cox
Tony Walker

HT 0-0

Khalsa produced a stunning performance to end Kislingbury's unbeaten league run with a great 2-0 win.
The defence superbly marshalled by Darren Malone and David Lindsay with Sorrell Carr and stand in left back Andy Wilson never gave the visitors a sniff.
Khalsa produced some neat play in the first half with Andrew Cox effort well saved by the keeper and then Cox, Campbell & Walker combined to set Miller up who just failed to connect with the cross.
The only blot on the first half performance was the ankle injury to Nathan Gasson who was replaced by Andrew Noble.
The second half saw Khalsa put Kislingbury on the back foot and were finally rewarded when Andrew Cox pounced on a loose ball to finish with a left foot half volley to make it 1-0.
Within four minutes khalsa had doubled there lead when the impressive Tony Walker skipped past four players before sending a angled shot into the bottom left corner of the net.
A superb finish to ensure Khalsa picked up there first win of the season.

INCONSISTENT FORM CONTINUES FOR THE RESERVES

Khalsa Reserves 1 Kislingbury Reserves 3
Steve McCabe

HT 0-1

Khalsa were again unfortunate in this tough encounter against the league leaders. A steady start was soon to be crushed when a flick on fell kindly for Kislingbury's striker who fired into the top corner from 15 yards out.Khalsa then picked themselves up and got to grips with the game and were the stronger of the teams when half-time came and disrupted their rhythm. Two early goals for Kislingbury at the start of the second half seemed to have put the game out of reach of Khalsa but a goal from Stephen McCabe gave the lads belief.Khalsa then upped the tempo and went at the opponents with everything they had but unfortunately couldn't get any result.A disappointing day was further dampened when goalkeeper David Murray was sent off late on.

Team:- Murray, Park, McCabe, Bradley, Morgan, Ware, Britton, Caine, King(c), Taylor, Watson (subs Singh for Watson; Forsyth for Bradley; Burke for King)

KHALSA BEATEN BY MEDBOURNE AS CHANCES GO BEGGING

Khalsa 0 Medbourne 2

HT 0-0

Khalsa spurned a host of first half chances to take a grip of the game before finally losing.
Andrew Cox hit the crossbar, Stephen Miller struck the post and Wilson and Cox went close before Cox fed Miller whose effort was straight at the keeper.
However Medbourne struck with 20 minutes to go when a free kick was met by there towering frontman to make it 1-0.
Khalsa then had two penalty appeals turned down before a long range shot by Medbourne struck there frontman and looped over the keeper to wrap the points up for them.
