1ST TEAM RETURN TO ACTION TO TAKE A POINT

Khalsa 1 Heyford Athletic 1
Joseph Bennett

HT 1-1

Khalsa finally played a fixture after two months without one to take a share of the spoils against Heyford.
Heyford scored as early as the 5th minute when the Heyford winger cross suddenly became a shot that evaded the keeper to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
This setback rather than dent Khalsa actually galvanised them when a flowing move involving Miller and Carvalho saw Joe Bennett get ahead of the defender to steer the ball home with the outside of his boot to level the scores.
Both sides created chances with the visitors spurning a spot kick but a point a piece was a fair result.

Team:- Allen(S), Carr(c), Saini, Park, Lindsay, Carvalho, King, Gasson, Bennett, Caine, Miller (subs:- Bradley for Carr: McCabe for Park: Watson for King)

Jamie Mclellan
Cliff Milne

HT 0-1

Khalsa made the short trip to tackle unbeaten Weldon Reserves for there 1st fixture since 5th December.
In the early exchanges Khalsa could have gone one up in the first minute when debutant striker Jamie Mclellan shot just over the bar.
However Khalsa found themselves 1-0 down in the first 10 mins from a scrappy goal.
This goal did little to dent Khalsa confidence as they poured forward on many occasions with Dennis Plamer & Jamie Mclellan both going close again.
The game stayed 1-0 to Weldon at the break though Khalsa had enough possession and chances to at least be level at the break.
The second half saw a galvanised khalsa come out and within 15 minutes of the re-start deservedly draw level with a good turn and strike from Jamie mclellan to make it 1-1.
Khalsa then produced further chances from set pieces and neat play but just couldn't find the winner.
Khalsa were then forced to make 2 changes through injury with Michael Bairstow and Andy Clark replaced by Gary Lane and Cliff Milne came on with 10mins to go
Weldon then pressed khalsa back as they went for the win but in the last minute khalsa broke out and sub Cliff Milne out-muscled the Weldon defender before rolling the ball into the bottom right corner.
This proved to be the last action of the game as Khalsa netted a well deserved and earned win.
