CUP CLASH FALLS TO THE WEATHER

Punjab United's eagerly awaited cup tie against Peterborough Silver Jubilee has been postponed due to the snow.
The game will now be re-arranged for the following Saturday 17th February 2007.
Kick off time will still be 1.30pm players and officials to meet at 12.15pm.

CURRENTLY MATCH IS ON SATURDAY 10TH FEBRUARY 2007 MEETING AT WEEKLY GLEBE AT 12.15PM KICK OFF IS 1.30PM.

DIVISIONAL CUP SEMI FINAL DRAW

Punjab will play Dainite Sports in the semi final of the Divisional Cup on the 17th February 2007.

The draw is as follows:-

Cold Ashby v Daventry Drayton Grange
Dainite Sports v Punjab United

Quarter Final of Divisional Cup v Wilby

Punjab United 4 Wilby 2

Gary Park (2) HT1-2
Michael Chong
Andrew Cox

*Game finished 2-2 after 90 minutes Punjab Won 4-2 after extra time

Wilby and Punjab put on a great spectacle for nearly fifty supporters from both teams to produce a scintillating cup game for a place in the Semi Finals of the Divisional Cup.



The visitors struck first against the run of play when they converted a corner to go 0-1 up.

Despite the best efforts of Punjab a numerous amount of chances went begging with Cox,Chong,Millington all missing good opportunities.

Punjab finally got level when some great football between Cox,Chong and Bright teed up Gary Park to stroke home the equalizer.



The visitors then scored again to go 2-1 up at the interval.

At half time Punjab replaced Michael Crawford with Debutant Hassan Mumin to try and get this second equalizer.



The visiting keeper produced up to ten good saves in the second half denying Chong,Cox,Bright,Mumin to name but a few.

Cox hit a post before Punjab levelled the game when Michael Chong converted with a good Half volley finish with 5 minutes remaining on the clock.

Really this was nothing more than the home team deserved after all the attacking they did.

The game went to Extra Time when Gary Park produced a superb finish to net his second of the game and put Punjab 3-2 up.



During the second period Michael Chong teed up Andrew Cox to put the seal o the game with a neat finish to ensure the passage into the last 4.

Man Of the Match:- Gary Park:- Great performance in the wide area and then in the middle of the park capped off with a great double his first goals of the season.
