PITRA'S BRACE HELPS PUNJAB SECURE PROMOTION

Despite playing out a nervous first 45 minutes Punjab took a stranglehold on the game to grab three vital points that ensured in the very least runners up spot in Division 3 this season.

Claudio Pitra on his return to the side scored 3 minutes into the second half when Jaspal Saini's corner was well converted for 1-0.

Jazza Saini then finished off a fine move for 2-0 by flicking the ball into the bottom left corner.

Claudio Pitra then scored the goal of the game by lashing home from the edge of the box for 3-0 by converting a wonderful move which involved no fewer than 7 players.

Despite Claudio Pitra missing a late penalty to seal his hat trick the result sees Punjab gain the second automatic promotion spot.

TEAM NEWS FOR THE VISIT OF WEST HADDON

Punjab welcome West Haddon on Saturday for what will be a difficult game.
The last time the two sides played Punjab picked up 3 points winning 2-1 with Claudio Pitra and Bukhtar Taggar scoring the goals.
The squad however is buoyed by a brilliant 13-0 destruction of CSV last week.

Manager Amrit added this will be another tough game but one the squad will relish.

West Haddon have played well in some big games this season so we will have to be on our guard he added.

Team news sees Garinder Birk rated at 50-50 for the game with Ahmet Huseyin (unavailable) alongside Ahmet Aksu who is struggling to shake of a groin strain.

Punjab's promotion bid gathered further pace when they totally demolished CSV 13-0.

TEAMS NEWS FOR THE VISIT OF CSV UNITED

Squad prepare for the visit of CSV
Punjab warmed up for the visit of CSV United with a 16 man training session.

This fixture sees Punjab play CSV in the return after the two teams drew 3-3 on the opening day of the season back in August which was Punjab's first game in Saturday League football.
