KHALSA TAKE DERBYDAY HONOURS OVER THE PEGASUS

Corby Khalsa 4 Corby Pegasus 0
Andrew Cox (3)
Liam Bradley

HT 0-0

Khalsa followed up last week's win over Moulton with a super second half performance to see off Pegasus in the local derby.
In the early exchanges Pegasus produced some nice football and going close on a couple of occasions with young winger Liam Bradley hooking a Pegasus effort of the line.
The back four marshalled well by Jaspal Saini again showed how good they can be with Carr, Lindsay, Saini and Park all playing prominent roles to blunt the Pegasus attacking flair.
Khalsa though were forced into an early change with Jamie Mclellan coming off with a groin injury and being replaced by Stephen Miller who played a prominent role.
With the home side having the better of it for the first 15 minutes then Khalsa for the next 15 minutes before both sides carved chances without a breakthrough.
With scores level at the break and a tactical switch at the break Khalsa took control of the game in stunning fashion when Liam Bradley beat the defender and put in a super early cross that saw Andrew Cox plant a header into the bottom left corner to give Khalsa a 1-0 lead.
Khalsa suddenly found another gear with Joe Bennett going close before he produced a fine run and excellent cross that saw Andrew Cox finish to make it 2-0.
Great work from Miller, King and Wilson teed up Andrew Cox to get his hat-trick to make it 3-0.
Though the final goal was one of the best team goals from a Khalsa perspective this season with Cox, Miller, sub Craig Hall, Wilson playing some lovely football before Young winger Liam Bradley coolly placing the ball into the bottom left corner from the edge of the box for 4-0.
An outstanding performance by Khalsa that shows good organisation on the park reaps the right rewards for the team.

KHALSA FINALLY SHOW THE PREM WHAT THEY CAN DO!

Corby Khalsa 4 Moulton 1
Liam Bradley
Andrew Cox
Joseph Bennett
Jamie Mclellan

HT 1-0

Khalsa finally produced some quality to see off Moulton with a comprehensive 4-1 win.
The early exchanges saw Khalsa go close a few times with Cox, Mclellan linking up well with Bennett.
However the breakthrough came through an unlikely source and one of the brightest young talents at the club when winger Liam Bradley raced through to hit a low drive that hit the right hand post then the left before going in to give Khalsa a 1-0 lead.
This gave Khalsa the edge to go look for more with Mclellan bouncing a header just wide and Gasson producing a good save from the keeper.
The second half saw the contest all but finished when Andrew Cox flicked the ball up over the defender before firing home for 2-0.
Khalsa continued to attack before the other winger Joseph Bennett ran onto a flick on to fire into the bottom left corner for 3-0.
Again Khalsa contrived to miss further chances with Wilson, Cox, Mclellan all going close before Cox's chip towards goal fell to Debutant Jamie Mclellan who applied the finishing touch to give Khalsa a 4-0 lead.
Moulton got a late consolation which looked a handball to finish the scoring and give Khalsa a superb victory.
Though the whole team did well some super individual performances on the day from David Lindsay, Joseph Bennett, Liam Bradley, Jaspal Saini, Jamie Mclellan deserve a special mention.

Khalsa Reserves 1 Moulton Reserves 1
Michael Bairstow

HT 0-1

Despite playing over an hour with ten men and being a goal down Khalsa Reserves dug deep to pick up a point in the battle for survival.
The equaliser came just after the hour mark when Young winger Michael Bairstow struck the goal.
Khalsa were very grateful to keeper Michael Allen who turned in an inspirational Man Of The Match performance.
Special mention to the squad who worked tirelessly after being reduced to ten men to come away with a point.

KHALSA FAIL TO HOLD LEAD

Corby Khalsa 2 Whitefield Norpole 2
Andrew Cox (2)

HT 2-0

Khalsa produced a solid first half performance that saw them race into a two goal lead versus Norpole.
Young debutant Craig Hall played a part in sending Andrew Cox away to make it 1-0 with Miller putting Cox in to make it 2-0.
However Khalsa then missed a host of chances late in the first half to extend there lead before the break.
The visitors then pulled a goal back when indecision at the back let the visitors in for 2-1 with ten minutes to go Norpole equalised when a free kick was not held by the keeper which presented there striker with a simple tap in to finish the scoring at 2-2.
A big disappointment as Khalsa inability to kill the game off in the first half came back to haunt them in the end

Team:- Everitt, Lindsay, Saini, McCabe, Park, Bradley, Gasson, Wilson(A), Hall, Cox, Miller (subs:- King for Hall; subs not used Calder & Poonia)

Khalsa Man Of The Match:- Nathan Gasson
