LATE GOAL DENIES PUNJAB A WORTHY POINT

Punjab United 1 Cold Ashby 2
Jaspal Saini (pen)

HT1-1

Nevertheless the lads turned in a good performance which was settled late in the game in favour of Cold Ashby.
Punjab started brightly with Julian Millington on his first start since early November terrorising the Ashby defence time and time again in the first half.
The breakthrough deservedly came when Aston Pink danced his way through only to be bought down.
Up stepped Skipper Jaspal Saini who despatched the penalty even though the keeper got a hand to it to give Punjab a deserved lead.
Ashby levelled the game midway through the half when the ball was knocked into the bottom left corner.
Punjab missed chances with Logue and Pink going close in the first half.
The second half saw Punjab have two penalty appeals turned down with Aston Pink being held back on both occasions.
Ashby then found the winner when the winger sprung the offside trap to score with 6 minutes remaining that proved to be the winner.
An unfortunate result for Punjab but a game that was played at high tempo.
