As the manager of Punjab United I would like to extend my congratulations to the whole squad for a brillant achievement in a great first season in Saturday Football.

I would also like to thank Bains Solictors for sponsoring the Presentation night and for his ongoing support for the club.

Finally the players again for all there hard work and for the bottle of champagne the squad presented me with.

The Punjab United awards night for season 2006-07 was enjoyed by the squad with outstanding achievements being rewarded.

PRESENTATION NIGHT NOMINATIONS

The final votes have come in for the eagerly awaited Presentation night on 22nd June 2007.

With the following number of nominations stated by each category:-

4) Best Newcomer To The Club - 4 nominations

5) Most Improved Player - 8 nominations

The evening will kick off at 7:30pm at the Sportsmans Bar, Carrington Street, Kettering.

Players and Officials are asked to bring along family and friends to celebrate a great 1st season.

GOAL OF THE SEASON CANDIDATES

For the forthcoming presentation night the list of the goal of the season candidates have been announced.

The following goals have been taken from an initial list of 10.

All players are requested to text the Manager with there choice of "Goal Of The Season".

The candidates are the following;-

1) Duncan Homer - v (Corby Flamingo) NFA Cup Round 2.
A blistering free kick from over 25 yards to open the scoring in a 4-0 win in the county cup

2) Chris Bright - v (Higham Town Reserves) NFA Cup Round 4
A brillant strike after a initial cross from sub Victor Carvalho was charged down.
Brighty chipped the keeper from 20 yards to give Punjab a 1-0 win in extra time.

3) Michael Chong - v (Cold Ashby) League game.
A huge goal in the context of the season. A goal kick from keeper Bobby Bhandal is flicked on from Andrew Cox that Michael Chong volleys first time into the top right hand corner to set Punjab on there way to a 2-0 win.

4) Julian Millington - v (Wellingborough Town Reserves) NFA Cup Round 3
Jules hit a brillant goal when he picked the ball up on the left glided past 3 players and struck a fierce shot from the edge of the box into the bottom left corner to give Punjab a 4-3 win.

5) Gary Park - v (Corby Danesholme Vikings) League
Gaz Park struck a stunning strike when a corner was headed out he controlled it on his chest waited for the ball to drop and then half volleyed it into the top left hand corner in a excellent
6-2 win.
