NFA JUNIOR CUP ROUND ONE

Khalsa FC 4 Roade FC 2
David Sheridan (2)
Andrew Cox (2)

HT 1-1
Khalsa progressed to round 2 of the NFA Junior Cup with a comfortable 4-2 win over Roade.
In the early exchanges Khalsa created chances without a breakthrough.
However a cruel injury to Dean Clark forced a lengthy delay as he made his way to Northampton General Hospital fro x-rays and was replaced by Andrew Cox.
From the restart Young striker David Sheridan received a throw in from Jazz Saini to turn and lash a stunning 30 yard strike into the top right hand corner to give Khalsa a deserved lead.
From there Andrew Cox missed a hat trick of chances and Callum Muir fired wide to extend the lead.
Khalsa for the first time this season had gone in front and were determined not to let things slip, but were punished right on half time as a long ball was turned in by Roade to level matters at the break.
Khalsa came out in the second half and went back in front when Andrew Noble teed up David Sheridan to smash home from the edge of the box for 2-1.
Andrew Noble then turned provider again with a clever ball into Andrew Cox who fired home to make it 3-1
Striker Stephen Miller then lifted a nice ball into Andrew Cox who controlled the ball rounded the defender and curled the ball into the right hand corner for 4-1 and his 2nd of the game.
Andrew Noble should have made it 5-1 but his nice chip dropped the other side of the crossbar.
Roade had the last word with a late consolation but the day belonged to Khalsa and a performance and win dedicated to Dean Clark.
Team:- Mann, Spencer, Carr(c), Mcluckie, Muir, Noble, Lindsay, Clark, Saini, Sheridan, Miller. (subs:- Cox for Clark 20 mins; Wilson for Cox 75 mins; Bosnic for Muir 80 mins)
