LATE GOAL DENIES PUNJAB 3 POINTS

Punjab United 1 Wilbarston 1
Warren Barry

HT 1-0

Punjab line up that won 2-0 versus Islip saw 3 changes to the side with Jaspal Saini, Michael Logue and Victor Carvalho making way for Bruce Calder, Duncan Homer and Julian Millington.

Punjab came away from Wilbarston with just the one point after the home side pounced late on to deny them.
All started well when Warren Barry on his return to his old stamping ground crashed home a 20yard effort that went in off the foot of the post to send the visitors 1-0 at the break.

Punjab played well in patches but could not add a second which cost them dear in the end when the home side produced some neat football before a nice finish to level the game at 1-1.
Impressive... Bruce Calder

With so many games ending in draws it was a great opportunity missed to close the gap at the top.
