10 MAN PUNJAB RECORD VITAL WIN

Punjab United 2 Islip United 0
Warren Barry
Andrew Cox

HT 0-0
Punjab line up showed two changes to the side that won in the county cup the previous week.
Gary Park and Warren Barry came in for Garinder Birk and Julian Millington.
With so many games falling foul to the weather punjab made good ground on the rest with a 2-0 victory in terrible conditions to put themselves firmly in the promotion mix.
This despite playing the last 35 minutes of the game with 10 men.
The first half was very evenly balanced with both sides creating a couple of good opportunities.

Warren Barry - Vital Goal
In the second half Punjab came to life when Warren Barry carried the ball and placed a neat effort under the keeper for a deserved 1-0 lead.
Punjab were reduced to 10 men when striker Hassan Mumin was booked for dissent and after walking off the pitch he was yellow carded again for leaving without permission.

The visitors put Punjab under pressure but the side superbly marshalled at the back by Jazz Saini withstood what the visitors had to throw at them.
On the break Punjab made it 2-0 when top marksman Andrew Cox lobbed home from 20yards to give Punjab a well deserved 2-0 win.
Coxy - surrounded by 3
Andrew Cox also missed an open goal as the visitors were opened up on numerous occasions in the final 15 minutes.
Team:- Bhandal, Huseyin, Hetherington(p)(c), Saini, Park, Carvalho, Bright, Logue, Barry, Cox, Mumin. (subs:- Millington for Carvalho 50 mins; Homer for Huseyin 70 mins subs not used Ofoshene, Calder and Kumar)

Man Of The Match:- Gary Park - Made some vital tackles in the second half and slotted in well at full back.

Shame, he should get 30 days. Maybe then that will give him a long time to sit down and look at himself and say 'its time i grew up' and started to play like the player i keep going on about. Mentality is just as important as fittness and skill. Something he is lacking for a player who wants to mature into a GREAT player.

PS Hotel sucks, just pull a bird and get free accomadation at her place
