PUNJAB BATTLE BACK FROM 2-0 TO GAIN DESERVED POINT

Punjab United 2 Corby Kingfisher Athletic 2
Gareth Walker
Gary Park

HT0-2

Punjab produced a stirring fightback from 2-0 down to claim a point in this game that didn't start well.
Kingfisher took a lead inside 6 minutes when Gary Park was adjudged to have handled with the home side despatching the penalty for 1-0.
Punjab despite numerous absentees picked themselves up to create plenty of chances with Wilson, Waite, Saini, Logue all going close.
However the home side doubled the lead when a mix up on the Punjab left gave them the chance for a counter attack which they finished off for 2-0.
Punjab came out in the second half with a tactical reshuffle to produce an instant response when Gary Wilson's corner was turned back into the danger area and Gareth Walker headed home for 2-1 with barely two minutes on the clock from the restart.
Jordan Winter set pieces and the willing running of Wilson and Carvalho had the home side worried with debutant Nathan Gasson producing a Man Of the Match performance.
Punjab deservedly got the equaliser when Gary Park from a tight angle turned home to make it 2-2.
Skipper Jazz Saini was also unlucky when the Kingfisher keeper saved from point blank range to deny him.
From a second half point of view Punjab were unlucky not to take the win though Kingfisher had a chance at the death which the rearguard did well to deal with.
Team:- De La Huliniere, Waite, Walker, Winter, Wilson Spencer, Saini(c), Carvalho, Logue, Gasson, Park (subs Huseyin for Waite 65 mins subs not used Green, Oakley, Ofoshune & Pink)
Man Of The Match:- Nathan Gasson - Great composure and assured performance on the ball on his debut.
