LATE GOAL DENIES KHALSA THE WIN
Corby Khalsa 1 Medbourne 1
Jaspal Saini (pen)
HT 0-0
Khalsa produced a solid professional performance to claim a point in this midweek encounter against fourth placed Medbourne.
The visitors created two chances in the first half with Burrows and Mawsby failing to hit the target.
With Khalsa spurning two chances as well with Miller forcing a save and Cox firing wide when clean through.
With the game deadlocked at the break Khalsa came more and more into the game and were finally rewarded when Joe Bennett's cross field ball to Carvalho who beat two men before being bought down to earn Khalsa a penalty.
Skipper Jazz Saini stepped up to fire home the penalty to give Khalsa a 1-0 lead on 75 minutes.
The visitors to there credit came forward and looked like netting but for a super block by Jamie Mcpherson to preserve the lead.
However the visitor were not to be denied when they equalised on 84 minutes with a far post finish.
All in all probably a fair result, but Khalsa will feel two points dropped when conceding so late in the game.
