COUNTY CUP DREAM ENDS IN EXTRA TIME FOR KHALSA RESERVES
Khalsa Reserves 0 Irchester Town Reserves 1 (After Extra Time)
HT 0-0
A match played under the floodlights in the county cup ended with an undeserved loss for Khalsa.
The match started closely with both teams canceling each other out with very few opportunities for either team with an early injury to Liam Bradley and a horrible head injury to Joe Bennett disrupting Khalsa's flow.
This soon changed when both teams settled and it became an end-to-end contest.
Some good chances were missed by both teams and half time came with no score.
The second half was again an end-to-end affair with no goals to show for it before the Irchester captain was sent off for a potential leg breaking tackle on Tony Duncan.
Extra time was forced and Khalsa were looking for the all important goal when Craig Loughran was sent off for a second bookable offence.
This was then made even worse when the Irchester forward unleashed an unstoppable 25 yard strike into the top corner.
Khalsa then pressed for the equaliser but just couldn't manage to get themselves back into the game.
Team:- Murray, Mcpherson, Duncan McCabe, Bradley, Hall, Britton, Loughran, King, Walker, Bennett. (subs Watson on for Bennett; Forsyth on for Bradley)
Khalsa Man Of The Match - Craig Hall, brilliant debut from the skillful winger.
