CHONGY'S HAT TRICK PUTS PUNJAB INTO THE LAST EIGHT

NFA Lower Junior Cup Round 4

Punjab United 3 Peterborough Castor & Ailsworth 1
Michael Chong (3) 1 pen
HT 1-0

Punjab for the first time this season fielded the same 11 that won 5-0 versus Islip United last weekend.
Duncan Homer and Claudio Pitra took there places amongst the bench.

Punjab produced a solid performance to progress into the last eight of the County Cup by beating a good Peterborough Castor Ailsworth side 3-1.
The first half saw plenty of chances for Punjab but the deadlock was broken when Ahmet Huseyin's channel ball saw Michael Chong spring the offside trap and sprint on and score with a nice finish to make it 1-0 at the break.
Punjab came out in the second and hit the post twice via Chong and Cox before Michael Chong turned home the second from Ahmet's throw in to make it 2-0.
Punjab then produced numerous chances to kill the tie and it finally arrived when Andrew Cox was bought down in the box which gave Michael Chong the opportunity for his 2nd hat trick in a week which he duly took to make it 3-0.
The visitors scored from an overhead kick to make it 3-1 but Punjab progress into the next round.
Claudio Pitra moves away with the ball

A tough game yesterday, but thats football guys, we cant always play neat football. It will prob be the same against Doddington in the next round. Thats what cup games do, make you dig deep.

And this is a team still to Add Hassan, Claudio, Homer, Stu, and Brighty, (mind you Coxy should turn up as well next week hopefully)

Happy days so near, but so far keep up the great work
